From Taco John's Jackson Street's Facebook page
TACO JOHN"S JACKSON will be a drop off for BROOKPORT SAVE THE PETS!! Please read below for more info
In the path of destruction, our communities pull together to not only help our neighbors but their pets displaced or injured by the devastation of the tornado!
Show them some love and help out if you can!
"SAVE THE BROOKPORT PETS"
OK People I was borrowing phones from everyone to try and keep everyone up to date. So here is the latest update.
I called Theresa and Jerry at the Landing Strip Bar and Grill and we set a plan in motion.
We are taking in all animals from the storm at the Landing Strip; this will be home base for SAVE THE BROOKPORT PETS.
If you lost your home and need a foster for your furry baby then bring them to us. We have foster parents willing to house your pets until you can get on your feet, they will be kept safe and will be one less worry for you in this time of hardship.
If you find a lost animal please let us know and we will come get it or you can bring it to us. We have crates and food. We are organizing a network of foster parents that will house your pets and you will know where you pets are and will be able to see them. When you are ready to bring them home, they will be waiting for you.
If you find a lost or a hurt pet please bring them to the Landing Strip, We have 2 vets who are giving free care to the Brookport Pets and we will get them to the vets or you can call the vets if you need to.
Dr Kayla at River’s Edge Veterinary Clinic 618-841-3543 or 618-672-5159
Or
Dr. Bonnie Jones at Beagles Bay Veterinary Clinic 270-556-8989
Please check in with the landing strip if you are looking for your pet.
We have volunteers going into the area tomorrow to look for lost or hurt pets.
If you wish to help we will need people to sign in and assess the animals we bring in, to help transport them to foster homes or vets.
We are meeting at the Landing Strip at 8:30 am to begin organizing the search parties. Please be prepared if you are going to search. You will need rags, towels, gloves; leash’s and crates to put them in. Officer Hillebrad will be bringing catch poles and other items to help in the search. Remember these pets are scared and may not understand that you are trying to help, use common sense, I do not want anyone hurt and especially any animals. Also we do not need to be in the way of the human rescue efforts, emergency crews are working through the night. We still have people not accounted for.
The pets we find and bring in will be logged in and I will post pictures of them as we get them.
If you know of someone that needs help with housing their pets please have them call me at 270-556-0950 or call the bar at 618-638-6697 or 270-845-1945. We have volunteers at The Landing Strip all night to take in animals. Please go to the side door and it will be open for pets to be brought in tonight.
Supplies needed are: Straw, Cat Liter, Liter Pans, Blankets,
Crates or pet carriers (These will be returned after the animals are fostered out).
We will need fosters for the animals if you can foster please sign up at The Landing Strip.
The Landing Strip is also smoking BBQ for anyone needing a hot meal tomorrow.
I have made Chili for any and all who need a meal.
Coffee will be available at 8:00 am. Lunch will be served all day to any who is hungry.
If you wish to bring in chips, Buns, Cookies, plastic ware, paper plates etc. or anything to serve for the hungry please do. There are many workers who will need a hot meal.
Thank you to all of you that are helping.

Helping Massac County Storm Victims
Most of you are from our area (W. Kentucky) and know we just had several reports of tornadoes go through our area. Brookport, IL was the hardest hit so far and the storms still are not over. You can help buy taking blankets, Medical Supplies, diapers and personal hygiene items to be dropped off at Metropolis First Baptist Church tonight before 6pm. Also, please do NOT go to look at the devastation...they need Emergency Vehicles to be able to get there and care for the injured. Share this status with others who can join in the prayers! Please pray for everyone that has been affect and those helping out. I have heard of 1 fatality so far.
Also FOR PETS FROM PROJECT HOPE: If you find an animal that has been displaced from the tornado that has hit Brookport, IL, please take it to the Landing Strip Bar, 6850 S Us 45 Rd (between Metropolis and Brookport). We are working with local animal control officers to address the need of displaced animals. If you have a building that you would be willing to be used as a staging/temporary shelter for displaced animals, please let us know.

Purex UltraPacks with Oxi review
The Purex is excellent! I love these UltraPacks. They are a little larger than the size of a quarter and you just drop them in the wash, no measuring required. I have noticed that Chris' work clothes are cleaner than what they have been. His pants and shirts are always covered in dirt from moving diary products in and out of stores all day long.
I have sensitive skin and normally can not use any detergent that has anything extra with it without breaking out in a rash. This Purex UltraPacks with OXI detergent has not affected me at all! I love Purex and know you will to.

While Sara received free pods to try I did not but I scored a bottle of Purex with Oxi for free and started using it when Sara got the pods. I normally use Purex and can't say I noticed a difference with my clothes except for some undershirts. I have some undershirts I just wear around the house. These shirts have become very dingy and have some pasta sauce and blood stains. These white shirts weren't very white any longer. I can't say the Purex with Oxi helped with the year old stains but after just two washings, the shirts are actually white again.
